Dominic Chevalier

Inwolved into music since birth, Dominic Chevalier used to love electronic and funky music. He organized and DJed on his first party at the age of 9 in 1983, when he played breakdance music for his friends on the meadow in front of his parents house. The following Years Hip Hop, Funk and Dancemusic was his first choice.

In 1991 he visited his first Techno/House Party in the Cologne SpaceClub, which later became the Warehouse. From that point on, he went back to electronic music, and started to produce his own tracks. At the beginning with very few equipment like an Atari ST, Ensoniq VFX/SD and a Firman SQ01 but continiously building up a professional audio studio environment. In 1995 he released his first 12″, the 1501ep, together with his friend Rene Breitbarth on 1501 records. 2 Years later in 1997 he founded the record label “Treibstoff” also together with Rene Breitbarth and Marcel Janovsy and Ralf Hermann. Treibstoff is still active and internationally known. Over 80 records have already been released.

In 1998 he started with his own radio show called “Disko Dynamite” on Evosonic Radio, where he played deep house tunes once a week and in some other radio shows. Several releases on 12″ followed, some single tracks on cd compilations and an own mixed cd. By the way his styles changed more and more to an experimental style in all kinds of music, even listening plays and sounds for videos.

After some years concentrating on producing music and not DJing, he re-found his love to the radio and started a new, even more experimental radioshow in 2008 on ensonic.fm called “Laboratoires Chevalier”.
