Jo Micali
Born as Joseph Micallef, in art known as Jo Micali, Jo kicked off his love for producing music as a young teenager. He began making tracks on his playstation, using very limited sounds and possibilities. Despite these limitations in his novel equipment, the tracks were already rich in content. Following this, Jo Micali, sent a demo to Maltaís top DJ, J Joy, who was quite amazed at the fact that Jo had made such quality material using his playstation. Jo had what it takes to produce top quality trance tunes, and Jo switch over to the Logic 5.5 sequencer on a Macintosh laptop. Within weeks Jo got the hang of things, mastered Logic, and started to produce new material. Tunes such as ‘Euphoria’ are also scheduled to be released on Paul Van Dyke’s prestigious Vandit label due early 2009. Influenced by the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, and Above & Beyond, and so many more trance producers, Jo is constantly evolving unique sounds of his own.
After new software and plug-ins are purchased, one can most certainly observe Jo spending long working and mastering his sounds and looking for new material. Support for Jo’s music comes from the likes of top DJ’s including Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Sean Tyas, Daniel Kandi, Alex M.O.R.P.H, Tom Colontonio, Above & Beyond, and many others.
